OUR STORY
K'in Alchemist was founded from a simple belief: meaningful change begins with connection.
The word K'in comes from the Maya tradition and is associated with the sun, energy, and the life-giving forces that sustain the world around us. At K'in Alchemist, we embrace the belief that each of us carries energy that influences our communities, our relationships, and the future we help create. When that energy is guided by compassion, stewardship, service, curiosity, and respect, it has the power to inspire positive change.
Through years of exploring Guatemala's communities, cultures, landscapes, and traditions, we witnessed both the extraordinary beauty of the country and the challenges many communities face in protecting their cultural heritage, natural resources, and opportunities for future generations.
These experiences inspired a deeper realization: travel can be more than observation. It can become a bridge between people, cultures, and ideas. It can foster understanding, encourage stewardship, and create opportunities for meaningful collaboration that benefits both visitors and local communities.
K'in Alchemist was created to help build those bridges.
Today, we work alongside communities, educators, artisans, environmental advocates, and partner organizations throughout Guatemala to support initiatives focused on water stewardship, cultural preservation, environmental sustainability, education, and community resilience. We believe lasting impact is created not through charity alone, but through partnership, shared learning, mutual respect, and community-led solutions.

Antigua Water Study
Understanding Today's Challenges. Protecting Tomorrow's Water.
Water is one of Antigua Guatemala's most valuable and essential resources. As communities continue to grow and environmental pressures increase, understanding the realities of water availability, quality, sanitation, and resource management has never been more important.
In partnership with Antigua Exige, K'in Alchemist is conducting a community-based water study to better understand how residents throughout the municipality of Antigua Guatemala experience and perceive changes in water access, quality, infrastructure, and sustainability.
Through citizen participation, community surveys, and local engagement, this initiative seeks to amplify community voices, identify emerging challenges, and contribute meaningful recommendations that support the long-term protection and responsible management of local water resources.
